Looking west at the site of Afon Wen station on 25 May 2012 from the eastern end of the station site. To the right is the eastern end of the island platform which was extended in the winter of 1947. The railway track which is still in use was formerly the down main line. In May 2012 it was a bi-directional single-track, part of the Cambrian line between Dovey Junction and Pwllheli.
