Looking east at Afon Wen station in April 1970. The picture shows the north side of the station and the face of platform 3. Platform 3 was designated as the up passenger loop but it was also used by terminating services from the Menai Bridge line. To the right of the up passenger loop line can be seen another track which was the up goods loop. These lines had been out of use since the signal box had closed in 1966. Only a bi-directional single track was in use in April 1971.
