Alston station in 1960s. The loco is a BR standard class 3 2-6-0, designed by R.A. Riddles on a class 2 stopping train. Built in June 1954, this is an EX GWR Swindon works built interloper to the North East. Built in 1954 it was initially shedded at 51A, Darlington. It was withdrawn from 13D, Northwich shed in February 1966 and cut up at Central Wagon Co, Wigan.
