Today the site of Ann Street Station is much altered. By the second half of the 1990's the Widnes Relief Road known as Watkinson Way had opened in its entirity and at the site of the station forms a junction with Ashley Way which heads west along the alignment of the GC & MR Widnes Branch which had crossed the Widnes to St Helens line by an overbridge.
