The site of Ann Street Halt looking south taken in 1967. Close observation shows a space between the running lines and the wall on the right of the picture. This was the location of the St Helens direction platform. The junction, which can be seen underneath the bridge which carries the Garston to Warrington Arpley line, leads straight on to Widnes Dock and to the right of the picture up to the Garston line and to Widnes South station. On the far left of the picture can be seen a bridge abutment. This is the remains of the Great Central and Midland Joint Railway which had closed
in 1964. The bridge was removed in 1965. Home Page
