Appleton Station was approached via Sadler Street (The one d is the correct spelling) which is shown in this 1979 view. The station can be seen at the end of the street its roof shape at this time had been unaltered except for the demolition of the chimneys. At this time the Station building was in use as a wood yard and the line was still open to goods traffic.
