The RCTS Mid Lancs railtour at Barnoldswick station on 22 June 1962. The level crossing has gates on only one side of the road leaving the coal yard unprotected. A ground frame is housed in the hut on the left.The levers worked the cross-over, and the ‘train staff and key’ would have to be inserted into the frame before the levers could be operated.
