On safari in October 2011 we see the situation with the surviving section of track between Barnwell Junction and Fen Ditton. The view is looking towards Barnwell and the points in the foreground mark the start of the oil terminal sidings. 150 yds behind the camera are gates marking the entrance to the oil terminal and after a further 100 yds the track ends. Fen Ditton Halt was located a further 900 yards beyond the buffer-stops. The photographer is standing 700 yards from the physical junction at Barnwell, thus the surviving section of the Mildenhall branch is a mere 950 yds long.
