Baynards station looking north from the Station Road level crossing in January 1989. Station owner Frazer Clayton owns a number of preserved vehicles which are kept at the station. Under the canopy a 1951 an AEC Mammoth Major heavy lorry. They were renowned for their robust eight-wheel configurations (8x4), exceptional load capacity (up to 15 tons), and dependable engineering, becoming staples in heavy haulage and construction from the 1930s through the 1960s.
Photo by Tom Bowes ![]() Restored AEC Matador 0853 LRX784 in RAF livery at Baynards station in July 2006. These 4 X 4 trucks were first built for British and Commonwealth forces during World War II. This one was built in 1955. It is one of a number of vehicles restored by Frazer Clayton at Baynards.
