Looking from the north end of the station down the Livery Street bay platforms with the clearance of the site underway in 1983 remnants of the platform canopies can be seen.

Looking south from the north end of the station in the winter of 1984 at the remains of the Livery Street bay platform ramps. Of note is the construction taking place, with the large tower crane atop, the new office block which would incorporate the entrance to the new station.

Sections of the northern end of the platforms were still evident in the winter of 1984 as seen in this view looking south from the north end of the station.

Demolition of a vast majority of the station undercroft is seen here in 1985.

The sheer scale of the undercroft is evident here, in 1985, with its white glazed bricks to brighten up what must have been a gloomy interior.

Construction of the new station was well advanced in 1986 with the concrete columns in place to hold the new car park above the running lines.

Looking south in November 1987 shortly after reopening on 5 October. Although, certainly, not as aesthetically pleasing as the stations that had stood here before it was testement to the will and drive of the WMPTA that the site was still available for rail use in a thriving city centre location.

Looking north, towards Wolverhampton, in November 1987 it would be September 1995 before a heavy rail connection would be made with trains able to run through to Stourbridge Junction once again.
