Station Name: BLYTH 2nd site

The booking hall at Blyth station in the 1950s. Note the separate windows for obtaining tickets to stations to the north and the south, with ‘In’ and ‘Out’ notices to control the passengers queuing for tickets. The window, far left, is probably intended for excursion bookings. It is unlikely that the windows had these specialist roles by the 1950s as the numbers of passengers declined.
