Station Name: BRASTED |
 |
A rather steamy Class H tank No.31518 with set No. 610 at Brasted on 28 October 1961, the final day of service. Although displaying the decor of the day, on this occasion the locomotive lacks the bunting which can be seen in other, similar, images. Raincoats prevail as per the trend of the time but the chap on the right has thrown caution to the wind and dons an ill-fitting jacket with equally ill-fitting trousers. As is evident in this view, Brasted station and environs sat upon a raised plateau and was approached from the west on an embankment before entering a shallow cutting to the east.
