In August 1992 a nameplate at Brockley Whins advises passengers of the recent change of name; the sign is using the Tyne & Wear Metro Calvert font on that system’s ‘Newcastle Cadmium Yellow’ background., even though it would be a decade before Metro trains began to call here. The joint interests of British Rail and Tyne & Wear local authorities in the station are shown
by their logos on the sign.
