Looking west on the up platform of Boldon Colliery station c1930; it had been known as Brockley Whins until 1952, and this name was restored in 1991. The LNER running-in board and gas lamp are accompanied by an NER enclosed pent-roof timber shelter, which would
later be replaced with one built of brick.
