Caernarvon station looking north in the summer of 1970. The line had closed in January 1970 but re-opened on 15 June 1970 for Freightliner services following the fire on the Britannia Bridge. The picture shows a Freightliner container being loaded onto a lorry. Freighliner trains used the station until 5 February 1972 giving it a slightly longer life than had been intended by British Rail.
