Looking east at the western portal of the Canada Dock tunnel in the summer of 1990. The tunnel lay to the east of the Canada Dock goods depot and passenger station. It carried the line under the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and through to Atlantic Dock Junction where the line from Alexandra Dock diverged from the Canada Dock line. The tunnel had last seen rail traffic in September 1982.
