Class 0-6-0PT 7439 crossing the River Towy as it approaches Carmarthen station with the 11.15am passenger service from Llandilo in August 1962. 7439 was built at Swindon works in October 1948 to a design by C.B.Collett. It spent all of its working life of 16 years in Wales, when it was withdrawn from 87F, Llanelly shed in April of 1965 to be scrapped at Birds, Bynea in August of that year. A class of 50 locos, 7439 was the last to be withdrawn and none are preserved
