Looking west along Chinley second stations platform 1 in October 1977 as a Class 40 heads east towards Hope Sidings. The train was formed of empty prestflo waggons and had originated at Widnes Hutchinson Street yard. The waggons would return to the APCM plant at Hope for reloading. Once reloaded they would return to Hutchinson Street where they would then be trip worked to the Turners Asbestos Factory at Farnworth and Bold In the background a Sheffield - Manchester dmu continues its journey westwards.
