The partially infilled cutting taking the goods line from a junction with the ELR at north of Clifton Junction to the Liverpool and Manchester Railway at Patricroft. The line passed under the Bolton line platforms which are out of view to the right. The Accrington line platforms run from left to right on top of the bank.
