Class 37 hauls scrap up from Consett low yard past Carr House West disused box in March 1983. Approaching Consett station from the south west. Site of steel works and ore depot was in right background with old sidings to coke works in right foreground. Carr House Junction was the junction for the Medomsley Branch leading to Medomsley Colliery and Derwent Colliery

Class 37 with scrap empties during steelworks demolition in March 1983. Site of original NER Consett station on the line from Durham was situated in vicinity of water tank in background. The original Consett station was under the later motive power depot which was on the through line from Durham to Swalwell (Derwent Valley via Ebchester and Lintz)

Class 40 075 in Consett station yard delivering domestic coal in September 1981. Public delivery stopped in 1960's but the coal merchant sidings remained in use almost until line closure and demolition. Goods yard was at Consett station between Carr House West and Carr House Junction
