The last train into Consett was organised by the Derwent Rail Action Group running on 17th March 1984 from Newcastle. The passengers flood out of the packed train to explore what little still remained of the once massive industrial complex at Consett. The original train was to be a four car DMU but a loco-hauled train of twice that length was needed.
