old9.jpg) A Stanier 5MT (Black 5) class locomotive runs tender first through Crossens station en-route to Southport with a brake van in tow on the 31st of January 1965. The line was officially closed at this time and track lifting had commenced. The locomotive may have been on asset recovery duties.
