Passengers have just disembarked from a pull-and-push unit seen in the up bay at Crowhurst station in the 1950s. 31269 was built in 1905 and entered service that November. Built at Ashford works, this 0-4-4T was classified as H and lasted until withdrawal during December of 1959 from 75A, Brighton shed, and scrapped shortly after. The run-round loop is seen to the right and on the far right is the coal stage. Crowhurst East No.2 signal box is seen in the distance.
