A London train bound for either Charing Cross or Cannon Street stands in the up platform at Crowhurst station some time in the 1950s. Built at Eastleigh works, 30905 entered Southern Railway service during May 1930. Named 'Tonbridge' after the public school of the same name and numbered 905, this Maunsell-designed 4-4-0 lasted in service until 1961 when it was withdrawn from 70D, Basingstoke shed, on 12 December and scrapped 3 months later,
