Crowhurst station forecourt c1950s. The main entrance in the centre of the building opens into the booking hall. The ticket windows are to the left and the ladies' waiting room and toilet to the right. At the east end of the building (nearest the photographer) the lower block is the gents' toilet which is accessed from the platform. At the west end the separate small building is the lamp room. Although the the last sections of the SER's main line to Hastings was opened between Battle and Bopeep Junction in February 1852, Crowhurst had to wait until the Bexhill West branch opened on 1 June 1902 before
it received a station.
