Station Name: DOVER ADMIRALTY PIER

1895 1:2,500 OS map. This shows the pier as completed in 1871. There are two railway lines running the full length of the pier. The end of the pier has been deliberately left blank on the map apart from the lighthouse, as it is an active military installation so the turret and a number of military buildings are omitted for reasons of national security. Landing stages are seen on both sides of the pier. The passenger platform is not shown; it was on the west side beneath the promenade. The junction between the SER and LC&DR lines is seen at the top, the SER line to the left passing Dover Town station and the LC&DR line to the right passing the ‘Lord Warden’ Hotel. A signal box is shown close to the junction adjacent to the LC&DR line.
