Station Name: DOVER ADMIRALTY PIER

This view of the Admiralty pier shows the excellent protection that the west wall gave to the platforms from westerly gales, The wall rose about 10 feet above track level. Work has started on the pier extension. A number of other buildings have been added around the the turret which was at the end of the pier as completed in 1871, these can be seen to the right of the gantries.
