A Luton train arrives at Dunstable North c. 1950s while a Leighton Buzzard train stands in the bay platform. The large goods shed seen on the right sits on the site of the earlier terminus. The loco on the right is 57778, built in December 1881 to a design by Webb for the LNWR at Crewe works. It's LNWR number was 252 and changed by the LMS at grouping to 27596. 1 of 300 built, 64 passed to BR in 1946 and it was renumbered again to 58887 and classified 2F. Withdrawn from Bletchley shed (4A) on 30.5.1955, it was cut up at Crewe later that year.
