Looking north from the footbridge at the London branch RCTS The Wessex Wyvern railtour at Easton station on 8 July 1956. This tour started at Waterloo with 4624 hauling the train from Melcombe Regis to Easton and back. This ex-GWR 57xx pannier tank was built in June 1942 to a Collett design at Swindon works. It was withdrawn after 22 years service in September 1964 and scrapped in September of the same year. The engine shed was closed in 1952 and appears to have been recently demolished, leaving a pile of stones. The canopy over the platform has also been removed.
