Station Name: FARNWORTH & BOLD

[Source: Paul Wright]

Looking north towards Farnworth & Bold from a point 413yd south of the station. From this point northwards a section of the former up line survived after 4 November 1973 as the Farnworth & Bold up siding. Buffer stops were supposed to have been fitted at the end of the siding but they never were. No traffic passed along the siding to this point as all trains that used it went into the Everite works, seen to the left. The signal seen to the right was a fixed distant for Widnes No. 1 signal box.
