A diverted London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley express approaches Fencehouses in 1959. 60028 was built at Doncaster works and entered service on 20 March 1937. One of Gresley’s A4s, it was originally numbered 28. Renamed on 1 October 1947 ‘Walter K Wigham’, it received the 600 prefix at Nationalisation and lasted in service until withdrawal from Kings Cross shed on 29 December 1962 and was scrapped at Doncaster works during January 1963.
