Station Name: FOLKESTONE  HARBOUR

This aerial view clearly shows the tightly curving platforms that were required to allow trains running off the viaduct to run onto the pier. Part of the 1972 ferry terminal was still standing when this photograph was taken, but all the buildings have now been demolished and much of the site is now a large car park. The coastguard lookout to the west of the station has also been demolished. The Sealink booking office is seen behind the north end of the up platform with the harbour master's house at its north end. The building opposite the house is the surviving part of the original SER station building. The swing bridge is seen top right.
