The photographer is standing near the Newmarket end of the up platform and the signal box would have been where the undergrowth is now, directly ahead of the relatively clear patch. The forecourt is on the right, with the approach road coming in to the right of the trees in the background. The goods yard entrance was further to the right, both leading from Station Road..
