Station Name: FOREST HALL (NER)

Forest Hall station, looking south-east from the down platform prior to the construction (c1900) of the single-storey building on the up platform.  The main building can be seen on the up platform close to the level crossing. The footbridge with its distinctive curved profile is of a design commonly seen at NER stations. The signal box standing above the footbridge steps remained in use until 1965.
