Notes: Foxdale was a terminus station situated on 2.5 mile branch line that ran up to St John’s. It opened with the line on the 17/08/1886 having been sponsored by the Foxdale Railway Company who made an end on connection with the Manx Northern Railway at St Johns.

The was primarily built to serve mines at Foxdale which closed in 1911 but a station was provided from the start. It consisted of a single platform and a substantial brick building. At the time of opening there were hopes that the line would be extended south to Castletown on the east coast of the island but this idea never materialised. From the outset the Manx Northern Railway operated the line first on behalf of the Foxdale Company but later when the company went bankrupt they operated it for the receiver. On the 24.5.1905 the Manx Northern Railway was taken over by the Isle of Man Railway and the Foxdale Branch was included in the new arrangements. From 1940 many of the advertised train services were actually replaced by a bus and in 1943 passenger services were withdrawn. Between 16.5.1940 and 1943 the station also served a military camp.
