HAWARDEN BRIDGE

Looking south towards Hawarden Bridge from the north end of the southbound platform of Hawarden Bridge station on the 2nd of August 1973. To the right of the bridge is a brick built tower. It was the control tower for the bridge. The working mechanism, originally steam powered was housed at the base of the tower. The tower was demolished in 1980 after the bridge had been fixed into position.
