Looking west at Meols Cop Junction in August 1969 after the eastern spur to Roe Lane junction had been lifted and alterations had been made to facilitate access to the electric car sheds. The signal box appeared to be in very good condition at this time. The lines veering to the left, that led to Southport, handled all of the Wigan line traffic by this time the direct route into Southport having closed a few years earlier.
