Looking north at a surviving bridge abutment at the eastern point of the Penwortham triangle in January 2011. Nearest to the photographer, a bridge carried the Penwortham Junction to Middleforth Junction line. Further back, separated by a section of wall there was another bridge that had carried the Ribble Junction to Middleforth Junction Spur. Middleforth Junction itself had been to
