An aerial shot of the site of the former shed the roundhouses and the associated buildings once stood on the area now occupied by the industrial units. The modern 1960's offices associated with the LIP are seen at the centre bottom of the picture and the LIP shed has been demolished. The EWS class 66 locomotive is standing on the approach roads to the shed.

The site of the LIP shown on 22 February 2010 with the shed having been demolished some years earlier the offices would be demolished soon after.

The only surviving part of the former steam shed is the entrance from Duddeston Mill Road.

Looking south-east from what would have been the No2 roundhouse towards Lawley Street the track panels in the middle distance mark the location of the LIP whilst the cranes of the Freightliner terminal can be seen in the distance.

Looking east towards the new DB Schenker booking on point from the site of the No2 roundhouse there is a single road on the opposite side of the building on which locomotives are stabled. The building behind the passing container train is the former Saltley power box, which itself has been superceeded by the West Midlands Signalling centre, located nearby.
