Passenger Stations serving Southampton Docks3.jpg) Western Docks carriage shed in ther 1970s. Boat trains (for all the docks) were prepared there since it was built in the early 1930s. Carriages were cleaned and warmed there ready to be taken off to the appropriate berth. Originally, these were steam heated but when the diesels arrived they had a couple of oil fired units to heat them up.
