A view looking west towards Widnes Dock Junction from the Warrington line in 1981. The line had become little more than a siding that connected to Carterhouse Junction.

Looking eastwards at the site of Widnes Dock Junction in March 1983. The dark towers behind the concrete fence were the remains of the pedestrian footbridge. Work was ongoing to create the Spike Island public park.

The site of Widnes Dock Junction looking south on 12 July 2012. The park entrance sign marks roughly the spot of the Widnes No. 4 signal box. The flat crossing was just beyond the sign to its left. The path leading off into the distance marks roughly the route of the St Helens line down to Widnes Dock.
