Goods Station Name: WIDNES (Hutchinson Street)The last horse to be based at Widnes goods station was Dapple. Dapple is seen in this picture from 1962 just before he was transferred away to Deansgate goods station in Manchester. Holding Dapple is the station ostler and standing to his right the goods agent. The transfer of Dapple was significant enough to form a news item in the Widnes Weekly News.
