A southbound passenger train arriving at Galashiels c. 1950s. This loco is 62437, an ex-NBR J class. Built a NBR’s Cowlairs works in 1915 to a Reid-design. Named 'Adam Woodcock', it was one of the superheated Scott class, getting the LNER classification D30 until withdrawal on the 31.7.1958 from Edinburgh St Margarets and cut up in November of the same year at BR, (ex-GSWR and LNER), works at Kilmarnock.
