A passenger service bound for Edinburgh Waverley about to leave Galashiels station in the early 1960s. 60097 is a Gresley designed A3 pacific. Built for the LNER in 1929, it was first numbered 97 until the LNER renumbering when it received the number 2751. Named 'Humorist' throughout its life, it was renumbered to 60097 by BR until withdrawal from 64A, St Margarets shed on 24.8.1963 and scrapped by Doncaster works in August of the same year.
