Station Name: GARSTON

At the eastern end of the up platform at Garston there was a cast iron urinal: such structures were popularly known as ‘iron dukes’. It included decorative panels and was left in situ when the canopy and waiting room were demolished in the latter part of 1977. When the up platform was brought back into use in 1983 the urinal was removed to the National Railway Museum.
