Station Name: GATESHEAD EAST


Hills Street Bridge under the site of Gateshead East station, looking south-east in 1986; the station had closed in 1981. There would have never been any physical evidence of the station from this viewpoint and at this angle. The Hills Street entrance (which was long-gone by 1986) would have been behind and to the left of the photographer.
