Gloucester engine shed c. 1937. 3257 is seen awaiting its next turn of duty. Built in December 1890, this Johnson designed 3F was constructed at Neilson Reid and Co. Allocated the Midland BR region number, 43257 in 1948, this loco lasted over 77 years in service, being withdrawn from 8B, Warrington Dallam Shed on 29.9.1962 and cut up by Cashmores of Great Bridge in October 1963. The unidentified loco behind 3257 is another Johnson 3F and the small tank version can be seen in the background. These 3Fs were rebuilt in 1916 by Fowler with a non superheated Belpaire boiler
