Station Name: HALWILL

Another view of Ivatt 2-6-2T No.41283 standing at Halwill during the Great Western Society's Launceston Branch Centenary Tour. In a much earlier view we saw a pony gig behind the railings on the left but in 1965 its place had been taken by a Ford Anglia and a Volkswagen Type 2, better known as the 'Combi' or 'Camper Van'. As the years progressed, this vehicle became associated with surfers who proliferated, and still do, along the north coast of Devon and Cornwall.
