Probably the stationmaster and his children and other station staff on the up Seghill line platform at Hartley c. 1900; this section is shared with the single platform on the Avenue Branch, which was not in use for passenger trains if this photograph was taken prior to 1904. The NER running-in board is on the left, and part of the main station building on the right.
