Hawick station looking south in June 1937. 9088 is seen working a class H freight (unfitted). Built to a William Reid design in 1918 for the North British Railway at their works in Cowlairs, it entered service with the NBR number 88. Passing into the LNER stock, it was renumbered 9088 in 1924 and again renumbered in 1946 to 4556 until nationalisation when it received the number 64556.Withdrawn on 12 December 1962, it was cut up shortly after
